Private Pilates Lessons for Hypermobility

With symptomatic joint hypermobility or hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, there are a few things that contribute to exercise having a few extra challenges:

  • low levels of proprioception make it harder to know where your body is in space

  • chronic pain

  • fear of getting hurt or having a flare-up from movement

  • possible neurodivergency,

  • easily injured,

  • a low exercise tolerance level,

  • body needing a longer time to recover,

  • needing to start at a more basic level than other movers and stick with that for a longer period

  • POTS, MCAS, GI Issues and more!

But we also know that movement is one of the best tools to help hypermobile humans maintain capabilities and have more fun in life! And I want everyone to have more fun in life!

Whether we work online or in-person at my home Pilates studio in Bellingham, WA, it’s important to me that we address not only the challenges listed above but also that you know I believe you’re the expert of your own body. Together we’ll work towards your goals, adapting exercises to meet your needs, and going at the pace that works best for you!

I often work with people who have been released from their physical therapy program but would still like support for a time with their movement goals. Transitioning back to a regular exercise program/habit is a process.
