History of Pilates

Honestly - this video is the most entertaining way to learn the history of Pilates!

Okay, I admit this is a bit of a cop-out blog post since there’s not much writing by me *blush* but I absolutely love this little video.

Wait, actually I do have something to say about the History of Pilates. The teachers that continue to gift students with the Pilates method vary in size, shape, colour, and experience. No one teaches exactly like Joseph Pilates did (thank goodness) and I personally think this variety has benefited the Pilates industry by making it accessible to diverse folks. There’s still a long way to go before it is accessible to everyone but I have hope that one day it will be so.
